This is a "poetic documentary" about the ancestor of all sound recording devices: the wax cylinder phonograph. We listen to two pieces of music in competition: "The Charge of the French Army", and "Tesoro Mio", a love song played on the violin. Alas, this resurrection of the ancient sounds has also only a precarious existence, because the film on which it is registered is itself a most vulnerable material.
