An investigation of the position of the Brazilian Amazon-Indians today. In their natural state, in their own surroundings, they enjoy the very things western men crave for -an unhurried and untroubled life, a relaxed and happy communal existence. But, by opening up the jungle, the Government forces the Indians to move; they come into contact with civilisation, which either kills them with its diseases, or kills their desire to live, and turns them into fringe dwellers and outcasts.
