Pulcinella

The famous Neopolitan character, Pulcinella (known in English as 'Punch') is caught between his shrewish wife and the carabinieri, who want to put him in jail. He escapes into his dreams, in which his longing for freedom and his nightmares alternate to the rhythm of a Rossini overture.
