In 1962, Michael Rockefeller disappeared in Indonesian New Guinea and was never found. It was rumoured that he had been killed and cannibalisticaily eaten by the Asmat headhunters of the South West Coast. This film sets out to show how the tribe's ecology of swamp forest could produce the beautiful woodcarving that Rockefeller went to collect, and still maintain such an incredible reputation for headhunting and cannibalism.
