The church of the West Hungarian town of Velemer was built at the beginning of the 14th Century, and was decorated by frescoes. Some of these still survive, and the film gives, without narration, an account of these medieval paintings on the fashionable iconographic themes of the times: such as the Annunciation, the Four Evangelists, the Three Kings, and the Crucifixion.
