Without a doubt, one of the most exciting musical forms to come to the West's attention, Juju music is a vital thread in the social fabric of Western Nigeria. The music incorporates traditional song forms, rhythms and instruments with Western musical influences and instrumentation.

It was during the international cultural festivities of Expo '86 that John Wyre, a Canadian composer, orchestrated one of this decade's more remarkable musical events. On a single stage, for a single performance he collected over 200 of the world's drummers and some of Juju's most popular performers - including King Sunny Ade and Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey

While the final result was nothing less than spectacular and the behind-the-scenes preparations were equally fascinating, it is the upfront performances that really give the film its irresistible power.
