A daggy delight and refreshing antidote to Australian cinema's "rites of passage" sub-genre. Droll, unaffectedly deadpan narration accompanies some unexpected glimpses into the situation of a young woman moving into a group terraced house in Sydney's Newtown. As she readjusts to the new living arrangement she's also responding to her own burgeoning sexuality which blossoms before our very amused ears and eyes. However, nothing runs smooth and all is slightly out of kilter in this extremely deft, daffily well written charmer.
