USA/Ecuador (MIFF 1993 , Youth Film Festival)
Director: Bill Day

In the middle of a tropical rainforest, a man revs up his chainsaw and cuts down a huge tree. As the thunder of the toppled tree subsides, a cameraman pops into the picture and says, "We came to Ecuador to save the rainforest but there we were asking these guys to cut down the trees for us... what happened?"

A refreshingly humourous and irreverent look at the issue of rainforest destruction in Ecuador, this documentary has been described as Roger and Me goes to the rainforest. The 'camera guys', self-styled video warriors Terry and Bill, capture in an amusing and entertaining way the paradoxes involved in saving the world's forests.
