With the revenge of the bad girl invading just about every sub-pop cultural milieu in the white world at present, Mara Mattuschka shows us how B-grade movie mythologies, and what can only be described as eco-surrealist feminist anarchy, can gel to create a disturbing and hilarious poetic satire of a girl's own sense of power and domination. Part Godzilla/King Kong monster mutation, part Lilliputian/Alice in Wonderland giantess, Mattushka's Mimi Minus stampedes through a toy city crushing humans in her wake until the city itself crumbles and collapses into a heap. In true riot-girl fashion, the film comes off somewhere between retro post-punk rage rhetoric and semi-earnest body-performance art show, adding a new twist to an already established genre of 'girl's own story' flicks.
