Robbie Conal is an artist who sneaks about at night with a broom and a bucket of glue. He has a healthy disrespect for most politicians and celebrities, and is keen to show his art outside galleries, in the streets. Despite the illegality of the activity, he encourages other people to sneak around with glue in buckets and attach his art to public surfaces.

His aim is to feed a message into the vein of commercial street advertising and give the public something to consider other than the next rock concert or latest political campaign.

Judging by the energy and glee with which he undertakes this activity one would not be wrong in assuming that he has as little respect for the conventional, elitist art world practices of the galleries, as he has for the world of advertising and the cult of the personality.

Judging by the reaction of the people in the street' his lampooning of current personalities and issues is a welcome diversion from the serious bombardment of the media, advertising and the heavily commercialized urban landscape. (GM)
