The Wild Bunch: An Album in Montage (1996) [Short]

USA (MIFF 1997 , Documentaries)
Director: Paul Seydor

This astounding documentary takes us to the high desert country of Mexico, where Sam Peckinpah shot his classic 1969 Western, The Wild Bunch. Archival clips alternate with excerpts from the film itself to illustrate just how Peckinpah dramatised his epic vision. Unseen black-and-white footage - which was thought to be lost or non-existent for almost three decades - shows Peckinpah at the zenith of his powers.
