My Brother Tom is the story of teenagers, Tom and Jessica. He is troubled, dark, inhabiting the forests as his holy domain, hiding from the misery and oppression of his home. She is intrigued by this very darkness. They fall in love, forming a bond so powerful it cannot abide compromise.

Director Dom Rotheroe aims to approach the intensity and intimacy of the relationships between Tom and Jessica with a closeness that would render it personal. He achieves this through the device of the closeup—raw, emotional. confrontational. The camera becomes part of the action, almost touching the characters' skin. It is a device that allows for improvisation and maximum freedom of movement.

"My Brother Tom is about obsessive love and the sacrifices it leads to. a story I had to turn into a film. The savagery. tenderness and power of their love wouldn't leave my head.''—Dom Rotheroe
