“I may not know where I'm going, but I'll always know where to come home to.”

The follow-up to one of Indonesia's most celebrated box office hits, 2008's The Rainbow Troops, The Dreamers is adapted from the second book in author Andrea Hirata's tetralogy of best-selling novels based on his early childhood.

Ikal, Arai and Jimbron are three best friends whose poor backgrounds don't get in the way of their imaginations. Spurred on by their teacher, they yearn for a better life, dreaming of moving away from their tropical island home to the exotic streets of Paris. But being a teenager is never easy, and the trio find themselves tested as they navigate the difficult territory that lies between adolescence and adulthood.
