Hoping to impart something of his Mayan heritage, divorced father Jorge takes his young son Natan on a holiday to a picturesque native fishing village on the Mexican coast - a community of stilt huts perched over the waters of the Chinchorro coral reef.



As they spend long summer days enjoying the simple daily rhythms of a fisherman's life and sharing the wonders of the natural world, the bond between father and son strengthens almost imperceptibly, a lasting connection formed where the jungle meets the sea.



Taking the unusual step of having the main actors play themselves, filmmaker Pedro González-Rubio has captured the subtlety of their real-life father-son relationship through a gently fictionalised scenario, creating a compelling blend of fact and fiction, underscored by a subtle environmental plea.
