“A movie without spiritual values is like useless knowledge.” - filmmaker Semih KaplanoÄŸlu

Winner of the Golden Bear at this year's Berlin Film Festival, Honey completes Kaplano lu's non-chronological trilogy (after Egg and Milk) about the life of Yusuf, a young poet from a remote Anatolian mountain village.

Enchanted by the forest, six-year-old Yusuf enjoys traipsing through thick wilderness with his father, Yakup, who makes a living gathering honey from wild bees. Struggling to express himself in class with his stutter, Yusuf finds himself starting to retreat into silence after his father fails to return from the forest one day.
