An exile's view of the decline of Italy's national culture and the man who put the ‘boob' on the tube.

This riveting illustration of 21st century media Fascism begins in the 1970s with a TV quiz show where slinky housewives disrobe with every correct answer. That show was produced by the current Italian president Silvio Berlusconi - accused purveyor of degradation and owner of 90 percent of the country's broadcast media.

With the eye of a keen observer - subtle rather than incendiary - Erik Gandini's doco eschews a simple indictment of Berlusconi to delve deeper into the troubling issues of media control. Through a collection of astonishing characters, ranging from TV agents to paparazzi and celebrity wannabes, he looks into the media culture of Italy and the consequences of such a system for the Italian people at large.
