Lightning (1995)

“I always wanted to make a western - but when I got to do it, the western was over.” - Joe Dante



Each episode of the Norman Jewison-produced Picture Windows series was to be inspired by a well known painting. With his episode, ‘Lightning', Dante choose instead to start with a short story by writer Zane Grey (author of the Frontier trilogy) and then insert it into a Frederic Remington etching.



Against the backdrop of California's 19th century Gold Rush, Brian Keith plays a lucky digger in a story of greed and equine smarts.
