You can't stop your thoughts.

It's 2024 and an oil-starved Europe has connected its train systems via a massive underground subway network. Whenever Roger, a call-centre worker from Stockholm, steps into Metropia a stranger's voice begins speaking in his head. He turns to shampoo ad girl Nina for help but instead finds himself drawn deep into a dark conspiracy.

Animated in a brooding style both hyper-real and disembodied, Metropia gives a nod to Franz Kafka and George Orwell with its tale of sinister multinationals and mind control. The first feature from documentary maker and graffiti artist Tarik Saleh - with voices by Vincent Gallo, Juliette Lewis, Alexander and Stellan Skarsgård and Udo Kier - it remains one of Sweden's most expensive and visually impressive animated films ever.

“Set aside your preconceptions on animation and let director Saleh work his magic… I loved it to bits." - Twitch
