"An affecting study of female adolescence and unrequited longing ... one of the most involving and sensually lush debuts in recent memory." – Cinema Scope

Summer in Brooklyn and wide-eyed 14-year-old Lila is a mess of awkwardness, naivety and hormones. Inspired by the exploits of her older, sexually confident best friend Chiara, Lila begins to desperately pursue thuggish college boy Sammy in the hope of something she doesn't fully understand – or necessarily want.

Raw, unflinching and shot with an uncommon eye for detail, writer/director Eliza Hittman's feature debut is a sumptuous and striking coming-of-age film. Bound together by deeply assured performances from a first-time cast, It Felt Like Love is a quietly devastating, all-too-recognisable tale of the ecstasy and anguish of innocence lost.

"Evocatively shot, rawly unsentimental ... proves that Hittman's a talent to watch" – Variety
