WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW (2013) [feature]

Taiwan (MIFF 2013 , Accent on Asia)
Director: Arvin Chen

"Charming, hilarious, touching and unashamedly frank." - Twitch

The elastic boundaries of family, identity and sexual fulfilment furnish the intertwined tales of Arvin Chen's (Au Revoir Taipei, MIFF 2010) sophomore effort, as midlife malaise begets a coming of age.

After nine dedicated and devoted years together, Weichung and Feng are tested by his former gay proclivities and her body-clock-driven desire for another child; meanwhile, his libidinous sister attempts to eschew her man-eating ways for wedded bliss, but can't face the idea of committing to one person.

Light and breezy in its gentle blend of romantic comedy and melodrama - with candy-coloured musical moments woven into the narrative - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? proves a playful, pop-infused delight as well as an insightful and touching portrait of the pursuit of happiness.
