A biopic like no other, for a towering creation of modern art: post-punk poet Nick Cave.

Cave is no stranger to self-mythologising, and this innovative psychodrama is a vivid swirl of truth and fiction. The scriptwriter, novelist and musician's creative process is interwoven with a narrative of his 20,000th day on earth, resulting in a crisp, visually arresting portrait and an emotionally penetrating meditation on how we utilise the hours of our lives.

Actor Ray Winstone and collaborators Blixa Bargeld, Warren Ellis and Kylie Minogue provide counsel, with the traditional rock-doc interviewer replaced by a therapist.

This debut feature from British visual artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard claimed World Cinema Documentary Editing and Directing awards at Sundance 2014, with the jury calling it "arguably the most exciting film in competition".
