Fresh from working together on the MIFF Premiere Fund-supported Downriver (which world premieres at MIFF 2015), actress Kerry Fox and writer/director Grant Scicluna explore the unique relationship and the dynamics between an actor and director. Presented by MIFF Accelerator, this session explores how actors choose their roles and collaborate with directors and how directors gain the trust required of the actor and how both navigate the dynamics of auditions, script changes, rehearsals and sets.

Fox came to global attention in Jane Campion's acclaimed An Angel at my Table (1990), followed many quality titles including Gillian Armstrong's The Last Days of Chez Nous (1992), Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave (1994), Berlin Best Actress-winning Intimacy (2001), Jane Campion’s Bright Star (2009) and PJ Hogan's Mental (2012).
