"Spring feels so new and refreshing, it serves as a welcome renewal in the horror universe." – Bloody Disgusting

When Evan loses both his job and his mother in the same week, he takes off on an unplanned trip to Italy, backpacking around to see the sights and party with other tourists. He soon falls in love with the mysterious Louise, blissfully unaware that she is harbouring a dark and terrifying secret identity.

Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead received huge acclaim for their debut feature Resolution in 2012, and return with a genre-bending horror love story that's as much Before Sunrise as it is An American Werewolf in London. Lou Taylor Pucci (Beginners, MIFF 2010) and newcomer Nadia Hilker are superb as the young lovers.

"Spring is a beautiful film, full of passion, intelligence and emotion. One of my favourite films so far this year." – Ain't It Cool
