"The Turning Forest convinced me VR will radically transform entertainment-based animation … the experience is absolutely exhilarating." – Cartoon Brew

Inspired by the likes of Where the Wild Things Are, The Neverending Story and the intricate visual art of Gustav Klimt, Oscar Raby's enchantingly surreal fairytale The Turning Forest sees amazing visuals combine with an advanced level of enveloping binaural sound to create a bewitching world of dreamlike fantasy and wonder for viewers of all ages.

Raby – an award-winning multimedia artist whose RMIT graduation film Assent won the Sheffield Doc/Fest Cross-Platform Audience Choice award – worked with writer Shelly Silas and BBC Research & Development to create this real-time visual and audio VR experience, where the complex and nuanced sound is as key as the breathtaking vistas. It's guaranteed to be both a unique festival experience and a treasured future memory.

"With real-time interactive VR, the unfolding of the story is unique because you discover it yourself; it happens just for you and because of you. It is the perfect example of the proverbial branch falling in the middle of the forest." – Oscar Raby
