Always immensely popular, MIFF’s annual program of jaw-dropping fulldome screenings at the Melbourne Planetarium is back.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to take in a truly unique cinematic experience, lying back and immersing yourself in the stereo surround sound and super high-resolution images projected onto the 180º hemispherical dome ‘screen’ above your head!

Program 2 features:

Minotaur (Canada, 6 mins), in which the archetypal hero takes a journey through the stages of birth, childhood, mission, labyrinth, monster, battle and death/rebirth.

Continuum (Canada, 25 mins), an odyssey through the beauty and mystery of the cosmos accompanied by a mesmerising soundtrack comprising selected symphonic works by Phillip Glass.

Kyma – Power of Waves (Canada, 26 mins), which will transport audiences into a 360˚ allegorical tale of how our universe – and all of us – are composed of waves. From music to light, from the smallest particle to vast galaxies, Kyma is a voyage through the wavelength of life, combining artists, musicians and acrobats in a stunning immersive show.
