A misanthropic mechanic running a black-market pet euthanising business comes to blows with a gang of right-wing thugs in this dark comedy from Finland.

Veijo runs a side-business putting ailing and unwanted pets to sleep while admonishing their owners for their failings as caretakers and humans. But when he decides to save and befriend a black dog belonging to wannabe gangster Petri, he runs afoul of a group of white supremacists.

Finnish genre filmmaker Teemu Nikki serves up a bleak and blackly hilarious film that tackles humanity’s cruelty to others, delving uncomfortably deep into Veijo’s revenge ethics and his twisted relationship with a nurse who enjoys sexual asphyxiation.

"For all its macabre trappings and PETA-unfriendly imagery, Euthanizer is actually quite a sweet, humane film about your run-of-the-mill Finnish pet murderer." – Birth.Movies.Death
