The Black Mirror influence shows in the unnerving Vivarium, which sees Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots’ young couple follow a mysterious estate agent into a strange, identikit housing development somewhere between suburban Ireland and The Twilight Zone, where they soon find themselves in possession of a creepy, demanding baby – and no apparent means of escape. Vivarium is an eerie portrait of domestic life that poses questions of class and gender roles, even as it sucks the audience into its hellish suburban maze.
