Dear Marianne
Narrated by director Mark Jenkin, this poetic vignette follows a Cornishman’s travels in Ireland – through Wexford, Waterford and Cork – in search of the familiar.
Awash in gentle nostalgia and ambient sound, this cinematic postcard from 2016 summons distant memories and a youth that seems to only exist in dream. Mark Jenkin narrates, relaying experiences of his homeland to the enigmatic Marianne while Kodachrome images shuttle behind him.
