In a vast mansion in Catalonia, Ed feels stuck – not just between his older and younger brothers Jack and Robert, but also in the company of his sister Anna and their blind father. The family moved from New York at their late matriarch’s behest; now, their days are defined by sordid indulgence and isolation. One day, Jack brings his future bride Martha into the fold, disrupting established dynamics. In tight quarters and with everyone used to getting their way, things are bound to go off the rails.

Scripted by Dogtooth (MIFF 2009) co-writer Efthimis Filippou and shot by recurring Aïnouz collaborator Hélène Louvart – whose lurid, eye-catching cinematography ramps up the intensity – this devious and provocative film depicts a world where the extremes of wealth and immorality are too close for comfort.
