Small Treasures: Animations by Sarah Watt
A tribute to the early work of the late, great Australian writer/director.
From the cool splash of a swimming pool on a scorching summer day to a young girl’s spiritual kinship with her feathered friends, these award-winning, rarely seen animated shorts from the beloved Look Both Ways filmmaker reveal her wry, deeply human approach to life, love and our precious connection to the Earth.
Films in this package: Deep Dive (1990), Catch of the Day (1990), Shark – Australia (The Web) (1993), Small Treasures (1995), Local Dive (1998), The Way of the Birds (2000) and Living With Happiness (2001).
This session will be followed by a 30-minute extended panel discussion reflecting on Sarah’s work and legacy in Australian cinema featuring Adam Elliot, Emma Kelly, Lucinda Clutterbuck and Robert Connolly.
