In 1884, an officer working for the native police, in service of a white constable, is ambushed by a small band of Arrernte men.
A glimpse into a brutal chapter of Australia’s past, this powerful short from emerging Arrernte/Kalkadoon filmmaker Charles Perrurle Perkins follows an Indigenous man forced to work as a tracker for a white expansionist group forging their way across the Central Desert. Tasked with escorting a young Arrernte girl, he is forced to reckon with the colonial-driven violence that is tearing his people apart.
