“Legal consequences in Denmark may be dire, but this agitprop work by writer-director-thesp Kaplers is a tour de force.” - Variety Taking aim at the political stage and the manipulative tendencies of the modern media, AFR is a work of fact-deconstruction in the guise of documentary. Following the fictional assassination of (very much alive) Danish PM Anders Fogh Rasmussen, AFR negotiates the boundary between truth and fiction. Compiling interviews with (actual) politicians, ‘friends' and ‘family', this is - for all intents and purposes - an investigative documentary. With JFK and Gabriel Range's Death of a President echoing loudly, AFR is a provocative demonstration that the power brokers - be they politicians, media magnates or filmmakers - are the gatekeepers of whatever truth they choose to tell.
