O No Coronado is an ultra fast-paced, aggressive 'head job' of a history lesson. Baldwin (Tribulation 99) propels us into a journey of epic proportions as we follow the phantasmagoric exploits of the Spanish conquistador Coronado in his search for the elusive seven cities of gold. Leaving virtually no rock of found footage unturned, the quasi-real battalion of Frisco friars and hungry hedonists scour the South-West devouring all in their path. Coronado is simultaneously a cartoon messiah and Gulliver as Baldwin pokes a farcical finger at contemporary America and its ability to feed capitalism, Catholicism and fame through the wringer so that the world-weary Coronado can return to the New Spain and die in poverty. Unaware that what could have been called Coronado Country now bears the title New Mexico, a state rich in buried nuclear waste, alias 'Fool's Gold'.
