Step Up to the Plate gives new meaning to the term ‘visual feast'.

In 2009, Michel Bras, the famed chef behind the eponymous Michelin three-star restaurant voted among the top ten in the world, decides to step down. As he hands over his legacy to his son Sébastien, Paul Lacoste is there to capture this crucial time in the careers of both father and son. Is it possible to pass on one's life's work? Can a son make a name for himself while trying to live up to his father's reputation?

Structured in four seasonal chapters, Lacoste's engrossing documentary attempts to answer these questions as it reflects on heritage, family and, of course, food. Detailing the flavours, artistry and philosophies behind the famous dishes that have earned Bras worldwide acclaim and the reverence of foodies everywhere, this moving portrait of culinary passion will leave a wonderful taste in your mouth.

“Both an incisive exploration into Bras' kitchen wizardry and a moving portrait of family ties and the passing of generations.” - Hollywood Reporter
