Brothers Boris and Dimitri have much in common. They're both paediatricians, they both live in Paris' bustling Chinatown district and they're both in love with local barmaid Judith (the radiant Louise Bourgoin). When they realise they each have feelings for the same woman, the long-lingering rivalries of their childhood will bubble dangerously close to the surface.
The sophomore effort from writer/director Axelle Ropert – screenwriter of Serge Bozon's La France (MIFF 2008) and Tip Top (MIFF 2013) – Miss and the Doctors is a warm, witty and affectionately drawn portrait of brotherly love in all its unexpected and occasionally absurd complexities. Anchored by knockout performances from the three leads, it's a film of rare understanding and an enchanting portrait of the ties that bind when everything else has fallen apart.
