"Aïnouz's stunning fifth feature portrays the evolution of a gay relationship with visual and sonic verve." – Variety

Konrad, a German tourist, and Donato, a Brazilian lifeguard, are thrown violently together when Konrad's travelling companion drowns in a powerful rip. As both men struggle to deal with the death, they fall into an unexpected, hyper-charged relationship. Returning to Berlin alongside Konrad, Donato thinks he's in love, but the fractures of tragedy and family run deeper than either of them could imagine.

From globally acclaimed Brazilian writer/director Karim Aïnouz comes Praia Do Futuro, a sumptuously shot and acutely observed portrait of unlikely love and painful self-discovery. Framed by hypnotic rhythms and immaculate audiovisual design, Aïnouz's film becomes like the relationship it chronicles: consuming, dreamlike and suffused with lustrous melancholy.
