Invisible takes audiences on an immersive journey into the confronting reality of the UK's immigration system.

Concealed behind prison walls, thousands of people are being held with no time limit. It's a familiar system of indefinite detention that erodes identity, traumatises those within its grasp, and creates mental health issues and other lasting problems. Darren Emerson's Invisible hears the voices of those with first-hand experience of being detained as they lift the veil on the confusion, frustration and fear it creates.

Focusing on the experiences of six asylum seekers and human trafficking victims – from Sudan, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Burundi, Ghana and South Africa – Invisible recreates the environment and emotional impact of a state internment system no press has access to, and offers viewers a unique point of connection and empathy with society's most vulnerable.

"I have been continually shocked to discover the way the UK government is treating people they deem ‘illegal', and I hope this film helps to shine a light on this system and leads to greater discussion about the situation." – Darren Emerson
