A snapshot of a Vietnamese-Canadian family’s routines during its matriarch’s final days.

Nine-year-old Trang mucks about with her cousin while her aunt tends to her dying grandma. The two girls distract themselves with candy, cartoons and capturing ants, but when her playmate goes home, Trang grows increasingly aware of her grandma’s condition. Featuring beautiful cinematography and heartfelt performances, director Carol Nguyen depicts the cyclicality of life through an innocent child’s eyes, winning Toronto’s Share Her Journey Award for her impressive efforts.
