Join local six-piece outfit Mayfield and guest DJs Manchild and Miss Goldie as they pay homage to the documentary Mr Dynamite: The rise of James Brown. Come and celebrate soul, and dance the night away with Melbourne’s finest soul connoisseurs.
Mayfield draw their inspiration from 70s music legend Curtis Mayfield, fusing together soulful beats, smooth melodies and powerhouse vocals to give this classic sound a modern, urban twist. Playing both originals off their soon-to-be-released debut album along with some James Brown hits, they'll make this night a MIFF Festival Lounge must.
Accompanying Mayfield are our favourite PBS radio soul personalities, Miss Goldie and DJ Manchild, who also regularly feature on the line-ups of Melbourne’s favourite regular soul night, Soul-a–Go-Go.
