“Relationships are universal. You can have self-destructive and abusive relationships anywhere in the world.” - Steve Buscemi Before his assassination by an Islamic extremist in 2004, filmmaker Theo van Gogh planned on remaking three of his films in English. Interview was the first. Pierre Peders, a self-destructive war journalist, is assigned to interview Katya, America's most famous and seemingly most vacuous soap star. The two collide immediately as Pierre's political intentions come head-to-head with Katya's superficial celebrity world. It's not until fate steps in that they are thrown back together and unexpectedly find a deeper connection. Steve Buscemi directs and stars in this remake - alongside Sienna Miller - which has been created as a tribute to Theo van Gogh.
