A chance meeting, a mutual attraction, dinner, entertaining conversation and perhaps a kiss? Not tonight.
When Gabriel and Emilie meet, both know that feelings are building up between them; the politeness of their encounter is overshadowed by the kiss that seems to be waiting at the end of the evening. But both have partners and, as Emilie explains, no kiss is innocent.
Recounting the tale of her friends Nicolas, Judith (played by Virginie Ledoyen), and Judith's husband Claudio, and of the storm born from one small, well-meaning kiss, Emilie attempts to explain how small misunderstandings can change your whole life.
Like Eric Rohmer watering down Woody Allen's neurosis to make something beautiful, Shall We Kiss? is writer/actor/director Emmanuel Mouret's clever blending of French drama with American screwball comedy.
