Made by a Black director commissioned by Newsweek, this film was shot in a General Motors plant in the American South during a trial job &ndash: training programme. A hardcore group of unemployed Blacks is brought face to face with White executives who keep talking about “going up the job ladder”. The confrontation is by means of psychodrama under the supervision of a psychologist.

It is at once a management training tool, a message to the unemployed and to minority groups. an insight into sensitivity training techniques, a social documentary, and an
absorbing experience.
