A snow storm on Christmas Eve is cause for merriment in Canada, snow is as much a part of the festive traditions as are the midnight mass and the exchange of gifts. But Leopold Z Tremblay, snow remover by profession must work against the storm, no matter if it is a holiday. At the same time he must finish his Christmas shopping, visit a finance company to pay for the purchases, and look after his niece who has just arrived in the city. These little escapades must be done without the knowledge of his boss who, as Leopold discovers, could have made an excellent detective.

Without diving headlong into social commentary, the film skims over many aspects of life in the more popular districts of Montreal. It all adds up to a lighthearted, deftly made and acted piece of whimsy, slight but entertaining, with a likeable and natural cast of players.
