DETECTIVE

Godard's plot involves four groups of people, or "families", whose paths intersect in the lobbies, dining rooms and bedrooms of the Hotel Concorde in Paris. A hotel detective. and his manic assistant are still trying to solve the two-year-old murder of a Prince in the hotel. They connect with a Mafia boss who is forever accompanied by a bodyguard, a young man and small girl. A husband and wife are pursuing a shady boxing promoter who is apparently too destitute to train his new protege in a gym. All those people, it seems, have business with each other.
