A galloping burlesque and sophisticated critique of a variety of genres, and a jab at theatrical temperament (not to mention human behaviour and prejudice), Love In Black And White has Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Tom Mix and other Hollywood icons come to life as puppets. Starewicz uses the American stars as emblems of western comedy and melodrama involving them in the antics of one black and one white cupid, who are competing to see who is the most effective and accurate of matchmakers.
