A Rat in the Building

An impressive debut animation from Andrew Horne, adapted from a story by Olga Masters.

Every Thursday, Maud plays hostess to her four friends from Every Street, Lilyfield - amongst them, Irene who has a passion for rats. Together, Irene, Maud, Vera and Mabel assert their geriatocracy as seen through Venetian blinds and polyester lace.

Peter Boyd modified an industrial camera enlarger which was used as a tracking vehicle, the idea being to imitate a live action film. Characters were made from wood, latex, solder, armatures and household cleaning materials.
