A modern re-telling of the childhood classic about Fanny, who has lived in the forest with her meteorologist mother ever since she was a little girl. One day on the way to visit her grandmother and great grandmother on the other side of the forest, Fanny has three encounters which change her life. First she runs into an apparently kind and gentle wolf, who leads her to a magic tree. Next she meets a city boy, Nicholas, and they become friends. Finally she meets an ornithologist, who bears a striking resemblance to the father who long ago abandoned her and her mother. Fanny has begun to learn about life...
