SORUM

Taking the supernatural genre in an unexpected direction, this intellectual thriller is a chilling tale about a group of people confined by bad karma, revenge and transference of sin and guilt. Moving into a crumbling apartment, Yong-Hyun, a taxi driver, soon learns that a previous tenant of his room, a writer, died in a fire, and that many of the neighbours had links with the dead man. One was his fiance and a rival novelist. The barber downstairs knows something but won't tell. As Yong-Hyun begins an affair with a convenience store worker, battered by her husband, he begins to suspect the building is haunted by more than ill will.

Yoon Jong-chan (born in South Korea, 1963) graduated from the Theatre and Film Department of Hanyang University, South Korea, and later gained an MFA at Syracuse University, USA. He had made three award-winning short films. Sorum is his debut feature film.
