Space Opera is one-of-a-kind artistic, philosophic, scientific and cinematic experience.

The virtual interplanetary journey in Space Opera is designed especially for the fulldome format and harmonised entirely with Gustav Holst's The Planets, Op. 32, one of his most beloved and admired works. Written in 1914, riding on renewed and growing interest in astrology and theosophy, the opera was completed in two distinct phases: the first with Mars, Venus and Jupiter and the second with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Mercury.

Using innovative, experimental 3D animation, director Matteo Gagliardi creates the interior of an alien spaceship, which takes audiences on a voyage through the solar system. A voice facilitates the journey and provides information on each galactic stop.

(Note: as Holst did not write scores dedicated to Earth, the Sun and the Moon (and neither on comets, nebulas or the Milky Way), the corresponding tracks in Space Opera have been remixed to provide a seamless journey through the Space Opera).
