"From the start, the film bowls you over with excitement and for those who can hold on, it's a non-stop ride." – Variety

In reviewing Good Morning Vietnam, the late Roger Ebert wrote "like most of the great comedians, Robin Williams has always kept a certain wall between himself and his audience … he uses comedy as a strategy for personal concealment." It’s a quote that carries extra weight given Tuesday’s terribly sad news about the actor’s death.

Williams’ breakthrough big-screen performance, 1987’s Good Morning Vietnam showcases not only a virtuoso comedic performance but also the work of a nascent but already masterful dramatic actor – it earned him his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor. But at its core, the story of Vietnam War radio DJ Adrian Cronauer is, as Ebert noted, less about war than it is about what drives someone to try to make others laugh. In this respect, it is the perfect summation of Williams’ career, and is therefore the best tribute we could imagine for a man who brought so much joy to all of us.

Join us for this special screening to celebrate the life and laughter of the late, great Robin Williams.
